Air Fryer Apple Pie Tortilla Rolls

These cozy little rolls are sweet, crispy, and packed with cinnamon-spiced apples basically everything I want in a fall dessert. Plus, they’re made in the air fryer, which means no oven needed. Less mess, faster treat. Let’s get rolling!

Method

1. Make the Apples

First, you’ll want to prepare the cozy, cinnamon-spiced apple filling. Start by washing and chopping your honeycrisp apple into small cubes. This helps them cook evenly and fit nicely inside the tortillas. In a non-stick skillet, add 1 tablespoon of Chosen Foods Pumpkin Spice Avocado Oil, the chopped apples, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of arrowroot starch, and 2 tablespoons of water. Stir everything together over medium heat. As it cooks, the arrowroot helps thicken the syrup, turning it into a warm, sticky glaze that coats each apple piece. Keep stirring until the apples are soft but not mushy. This should take around 5–7 minutes. Once they’re cooked, remove from heat and let the mixture cool completely for at least 5 minutes. This step is important if the filling is too hot, it can tear your tortillas during rolling.

2. Assemble the Rolls

Once your apple mixture is cool, it’s time to build your rolls. Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface or plate. Spoon some of the stewed apples into the center, spreading it in a line but leaving space at the edges. To roll, fold in the sides slightly and then roll the tortilla tightly from one end to the other, just like a burrito. Repeat with the other tortillas until you have three rolls. Now give each one a good spray using Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Spray this helps them get crispy in the air fryer and gives that golden glow.

3. Cinnamon-Sugar Time

In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup of coconut sugar and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. This combo is going to make your tortilla rolls taste just like the outside of a churro. Sprinkle it generously over each roll. If you’d like, you can also roll them gently in the sugar mix to get an even coating. The oil spray helps the sugar stick and crisp up perfectly while cooking.

4. Air Fry ‘Em

Now it’s time for the magic. Place the cinnamon-sugar-coated rolls into your air fryer basket. Make sure there’s a little space between each one so the hot air can circulate and crisp them evenly. Set the air fryer to 350°F and cook for 8–10 minutes. I recommend checking them around the 8-minute mark to see how they’re doing every air fryer is a little different, and you don’t want them to burn. You’re looking for a light golden brown color and crispy edges.5. Final Touches
While the rolls are air frying, you can whip up a quick homemade “oil caramel.” In a small bowl, emulsify ¼ cup of Chosen Foods Pumpkin Spice Avocado Oil with ⅓ cup of maple syrup. Stir or whisk it quickly until it thickens slightly and looks smooth and glossy almost like a pourable caramel sauce. Once the rolls are out of the air fryer, drizzle this mixture over the top. For a final touch, dust with powdered sugar. It adds a little sweetness and gives that bakery-style look.

Notes
