Cherry Overnight Oats

If you’re looking for a sweet, fruity, and super easy breakfast to make ahead these Cherry Overnight Oats are the answer! I absolutely love cherry season, and this recipe is my go-to when I find fresh cherries at the store. It’s cool, creamy, packed with flavor, and secretly full of protein thanks to cherry whey and chia seeds. Plus, it’s perfect for busy mornings or when you just want to treat yourself to something refreshing and yummy!

Method

1. Mix the Base

Start by grabbing a medium-sized bowl. Add ½ cup of rolled oats, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, and 1 scoop of cherry whey protein powder (I used @Sprouts brand). These ingredients form the hearty, protein-packed base of your overnight oats. Next, pour in ¾ cup of almond milk and add 1 tablespoon of cherry preserves for sweetness and flavor. Don’t forget a splash of vanilla extract it brings everything together with a cozy, dessert-like aroma. Finally, add a handful of chopped fresh cherries. Stir everything together really well, making sure all the oats and chia seeds are fully coated in liquid. This step is key to avoid dry spots and to help the oats soak evenly overnight.

2. Chill Overnight

Once your mixture is well combined, transfer it into a mason jar or any airtight container. Seal the lid and place it in the fridge to chill overnight, or for at least 4 hours. This chill time is what turns the raw oats into a creamy, pudding-like texture. During this time, the chia seeds also work their magic and absorb the liquid, giving the oats that perfect thick consistency.

3. Layer in the Morning

When you’re ready to eat your oats, take the jar out of the fridge and give the mixture a quick stir. It should be creamy and thick by now. For an extra fun and tasty breakfast, spoon in a few layers of coconut yogurt and a little extra cherry preserves. You can alternate layers of oats, yogurt, and preserves to make it look pretty (and taste amazing!).

4. Add the Toppings

Now for the best part toppings! Add a couple of stemmed fresh cherries right on top. Then, sprinkle over some chopped dark chocolate for a little indulgence. The chocolate melts just slightly on the cold oats, which makes every bite feel special and a little decadent. And that’s it your cherry overnight oats are ready to enjoy!
