Matcha Blue Spirulina Smoothie

There’s something so magical about this smoothie it’s like drinking a spring sunrise! With earthy matcha, dreamy blue spirulina, and fresh tropical fruits, this Matcha Blue Spirulina Smoothie is not only beautiful, but it’s also super nourishing and full of good vibes.

I grabbed all my ingredients and pantry staples from my local Sprouts, including coconut water from Vitacoco (which I love because they’re all about ethical, sustainable packaging). This smoothie is light, refreshing, and a total mood booster. Plus, it’s packed with antioxidants, fiber, and collagen for that glow-up from the inside out.

Method

1. Blend It All Up

To start, grab your blender and toss in the frozen banana, frozen mango, chia seeds, a scoop of collagen powder, a pinch (just 1/4 tsp) of blue spirulina, and 1 cup of coconut water. I like using Vitacoco Pure because it’s ethically sourced and adds a light, hydrating base to the smoothie. Blend everything on high speed until smooth and creamy. The frozen fruit gives the smoothie that thick, frosty texture we’re going for, while the chia seeds help add fiber and natural thickness. Make sure there are no chunks left this should be velvety and drinkable.

2. Create the Cloud Effect

Now it’s time for the fun part  the dreamy cloud design! Grab your favorite glass or jar and use a spoon or spatula to gently press dollops of plain coconut yogurt around the inside walls of the glass. This creates a soft, cloud-like base. For the green swirls, mix a little coconut yogurt with a pinch of matcha powder in a small bowl until smooth, then swirl it inside the glass along with the plain yogurt. It doesn’t have to be perfect this effect looks beautiful even when it’s random and artsy.

3. Pour and Top

Once your glass is prepped, gently pour the blended smoothie into the center, letting it fill up around the yogurt clouds. It’s such a satisfying moment seeing the colors swirl together! For an extra touch, top it off with a big spoonful of coconut whipped cream and sprinkle a little more blue spirulina on top. This gives your smoothie that extra dreamy, café-style finish that looks as good as it tastes.

  • Don’t overblend or the smoothie can get too warm and runny.

  • Use just a tiny bit of spirulina, it’s powerful in both color and flavor!
